PRAS Cultural Heritage Festival September 2017

Celebrates the rich west coast culture and heritage. Events will include exciting exhibits, workshops, demos, feasts and activities for the whole family. Our focus this year is the Traditional Art of Wood Carving and Cedar Bark Weaving. The public will have the opportunity to observe master carvers at work and learn carving techniques through workshops and public demonstrations. Pacific Rim Arts Society

Queen of the Peak September 29 -October 1, 2017

The Queen of the Peak is an annual all Women’s Surf Contest created by Surf Sister and Shelter Restaurant. This event showcases and celebrates the amazing female surf talent present here on the west coast.

Every year from late April through May, flocks of Sandpipers, Plovers, Whimbrels, and many other shorebirds pass through the Tofino area. Thousands stop here to feed and rest as they make their impressive journey from South and Central America northward to their Arctic breeding grounds.

Rip Curl Pro Tofino is the largest surfing competition in Canada. This annual Tofino Surf competition provides an arena for competitive surfing. This is the 11th year, the Rip Curl Pro Tofino has been at the forefront of a rapidly increasing level of Canadian competitive surfing.

Annual opening of a wildlife refuge and gardens owned by the Land Conservancy. Free tours once a year only on the May Long weekend. Once frequented by famed author John Steinbeck and his friend, marine biologist Ed “Doc” Rickets, both of “Cannery Row” fame. Free water taxis leave from Tofino Harbour.
